Setup guide

  1. 1

    Install Claude Code

    Install the CLI globally:

    npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

    Requires an active Claude Pro/Max subscription or API key.

  2. 2

    Add the server with a command

    Syntax:

    claude mcp add <name> <command> [args...]

    Example — GitHub server:

    claude mcp add github npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-github
  3. 3

    Verify the setup

    List configured servers:

    claude mcp list

    The next time you run claude in a terminal, the tools will be available.
